Free Eric Volz - “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” -Martin Luther King Jr.

The more people around the world become aware of Eric Volz’s case, the better chance he will have of getting out of Nicaraguan prison with his life. It doesn’t take long to listen to facts to believe that this man was unjustly convicted of this murder.

Please take a moment to watch this video, checkout his web site, make a decision for yourself. Then please write to your government representatives.

Natalia and Antun’s Visit to Maui

I was lucky enough to have Natalia and Antun visit me during their honeymoon trip to Hawaii. Antun suprised Natalia with this trip all the way from Zurich. Natalia and I are both students in the Instituto de Empresa’s Global Communities MBA program. Antun is also an alumnus of IE.

They stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua, which is a killer spot. It’s right above DT Felming’s beach and is a great hotel, especially for couples looking to get away from screaming kids at the crazy playground pools of some of the resorts.

I’ve got to give Antun some serious credit for pulling this one off.

Congratulations you two!

Aloha Natalia… As you can see the view from the Ritz lobby balcony is killer.

Natalia and Antun… Lucky Guy!

Honolua Bay on a calm day

Honolua Bay can be a killer spot to snorkel on days like this.

You can see the Ritz in the distance.

What a cute couple

Natalia just can’t wait to see her man ;)
By the way… that is one nice looking truck.

Killer comb, if I do say so myself!

Napili Bay is one of my favorites.

Check out the Instituto de Empresa hat… This one belongs in a brochure for IE.

I couldn’t let Antun have all the fun for himself so I talked this pretty lady with the glasses into posing for a couple of pictures with me.

Life is good!

Why do things disappear?

There were a few key people who inspired me to start blogging and whose analytical writing skills I greatly admire.  One of those people who has personally inspired me to start blogging is Jonas Holmes III.  He has written about politics, wine, photography and physics.  He is one of the most diverse people I have ever met and am proud to link to his blogger profile where you can read what he has to say.

Instituto de Empresa - Community Integration Day - Madrid - May 2006 w/Pictures

I’ve been back from Spain for a couple of weeks now and I’m finally getting around to blogging about the trip. Sorry it took so long! I really need to find a rhythm with this whole blog thing.

Here are some of my favorite photos from the time in Madrid. It’s interesting to note that this was the first time most of us had ever met face-to-face, but we all felt like knew each other very well. I attribute this to the wonderful individual personalities and quality of the Instituto de Empresa’s Global Communities MBA (GC MBA) program.

Note: If you click on any of these photos it will take you to Flickr where you can watch this as a slideshow with even more photos.

Enjoy!

Here are a few photos from our first night’s dinner.  I like blurry photos every once in a while…  That’s more how memories end up anyway!

Here are some shots from the courtyards of Instituto de Empresa’s beautiful campus in Madrid.

What a bunch of beautiful ladies.

Sara and Jose Antonio…  We’ll miss you Jose!

Karan and Maria…  We’ll miss you too Maria!

These shots are from the formal dinner during the Community Integration Day (CID).  It was a wonderful dinner and a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other better.  The GC MBA has a Spanish section and an English section.  There were members from both sides at this CID. Because I speak Spanish and English I ended up as the pseudo ambassador to the Spanish program.  During this dinner I ended up being the translator to an impromptu exercise of integrating the English and Spanish programs.  It was a lot of fun…  We ended it with shots of tequila!

This was dinner from the last night of the CID.  Miguel was a gracious host and made sure everyone was well taken care of.  I can’t remember the name of the restaurant (please leave a comment if you remember), but it had great paella and was located near Plaza de Sol.

This is the last photo I’m allowed to publish on Karan’s birthday later that night!  Let’s just say…  Rock stars would be jealous of how we got down.

Instituto de Empresa - CID - Madrid May 2006

The Community Integration Day in Madrid was wonderful.  The best part about it was meeting all of my fellow classmates and counterparts in the Spanish Programme.  I´m really excited to work more with all of you.  I´ll post some of the photos and reviews of sessions over the next couple of days so please check back.
